TEDxYouth

TEDxYouthDay  is an extension of the TEDx program  and is made of a series of annual TEDx events happening all around the world on or around November 20 i.e.  Universal Children`s Day. These events vary widely in size, format and theme, but they will share a common vision: inspiring curiosity, igniting new ideas and empowering young  leaders.
As part of this global undertaking, a Committee lead by Sorin Suciu organised a TedxYouthDay event for the first time in Reghin on  November 20th, 2011. The event starting at 2 PM had as venue The Municipal House of Culture George Enescu and was aimed at inspiring young people through the voices of their peers:

Vlad is one of the founders of LeCtura magazine, the only non-profit cultural magazine with free distribution from Mureș county. LeCtura brand has become a benchmark for everything regarding cultural events for young people in Mureș and that in only a year. What Vlad is trying to do, along with LeCtura’s team, is not only to publish a magazine, but also to create a community project that promotes and supports young people eager to make a difference in the community. He graduated Faculty of Communication and Public Relations at SNSPA. He worked as Head of Design Deparment at CamelWeb Creations, an IT company, that has the pleasure to work with customers like Pampers, Pringles or Whirlpool. At this time, Vlad is part of the Anvico’s team, but nevertheless he still finds the time to be involved in non-profit social projects such as Let’s do it, Romania! or Lecturi Urbane and, naturally, LeCtura magazine.

Kristof is on a path of self betterment in order to profess a unique and most challenging task: training geniuses. He himself has a very moving story. He grew up in an orphanage and considering that learning is vital, he made the most of it in order to teach others who can change Romania. Kristof started writing poetry, published a book, was honored with prizes for literature and journalism, he did volunteering, worked as a journalist and now works with gifted children. At the time, he is in the second year as master student of counselling and psychotherapy at  the University Dimitrie Cantemir in Targu-Mures.

Marcel studies ways that can transform learning into games using mobile computing. With  more then 10 years of experiece, in the higher education systems around the world, Marcel co-authored the doctoral thesis “Adaptation dynamique de services” while at University of Savoie, France and Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He’s an associate member of the “Rainbow” team at the University of Nice. His interest in computing and how technology can improve learning started in his youth by observing his father and role-model professors.Marcel lives and works in Cluj-Napoca, Romania where he founded and now is the head of the Adaptive Systems Laboratory and associate professor at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca giving lectures on Mobile Communication and Mobile Computing. He frequently gives lectures at universities from Nice and Savoia.

Razvan is the man who gives ideas about travels, unravels incredible stories about people and places, civilizations, languages and great adventures and is all happening on television, on Romanian State Television (TVR 2) in his international travel show called Bazar. An experienced chief editor of magazines such as “Popcorn“, “Play“ or  “Clever Travel“, a master of many languages, he is essentially an avid traveller: “When we travel, we are what we are in that same moment since the people we meet have no idea of our past, where we come from and where we are going.

Pera shares ideas and insights on how to uncork our own potential, how to manage it and use it to carry us towards our goals. Family relations, our professions, social relations and our love stories and our relations with our most inner thoughts and nature are all subjects Pera touches upon. While in the last year as a student of the Polytechnic University, he understood that his destiny was set to a different tune, namely, to help enhance the chances of others. So he decided to become a psychologist. He graduated the Faculty of Psychology of  West University of Timisoara, wrote two books and he is an organiser of events and workshops dealing with personal develoment. Driven by passion and love for people, he loves to talk to them about vocation.
The second part of the TedxYouth event was marked by concerts of  the young Christians of the Sófár Band and musicians of the Philarmonic of Cluj and Targu-Mures united in the Neumarkt Brass Quintet singinng Gospel and film music.
